This first part of the "Incubate" video shows a behind-the-scenes look at the backing track I used to write my own creative guitar solo for an upcoming online guitar contest.
In this section of the "Incubate" video, I'll demonstrate how to use a great tool for accessing backing tracks as well as for practicing and learning scales, modes, and general fretboard visualization.

Main Course Videos #2: Solo Studies
Stressed out about writing a solo? Sometimes it's best to Trust the Process.
In this lesson, we'll analyze the jam track I chose to work with and see some of the text notes this particular track comes with.
We continue analyzing the jam track and start looking for clues left by the chord sheet and other aspects of the track.
In this lesson, I'll discuss some key concepts involved in writing melodic solos.
This lesson will help you realize what to look for in your favorite artists's creative solos.
Here are some additional ideas to keep in the back of your mind while composing your own guitar solos.
Here are some strategies for helping you break down scales and modes into easier-to-understand concepts when constructing your solos.
We take another look at the demo solo we're studying throughout this section of the course and go in depth to find the Melodies, Licks, and Moments it contains.
I'll take a crack at playing some of my own ideas for a solo. Here, you'll get to look behind-the-scenes at the initial stages of how I construct a solo.
I'll show you some ideas I've come up with for some custom licks I created. Who knows, they might make their way into the solo—or as separate tabs!
Toward the end of the jam track, I wanted to include a wah-wah pedal. I also discuss how I'm looking to add even more expression to my solo and several ideas and concepts you can use in your own solos.
Module 2 ends with some final tips on what we've covered so far, including what sections of the course to browse depending on your own issues with writing creative guitar solos.
